A's left-hander Dallas Braden was evaluated by orthopedic surgeon Lewis Yocum in Los Angeles Wednesday and the initial report was encouraging.

A post on Twitter from Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle indicated that Braden's shoulder did not sustain any structural damage in his last outing, Saturday against Detroit.

Braden, who was placed on the 15-day DL Monday, will continue rest and rehabilitation for what's being described as shoulder stiffness.

The DL stint is the fourth of Braden's career. His place on the roster was taken by Tyson Ross, who will take Braden's place in the rotation on Friday in Seattle.

Braden is eligible to come of the DL on May 2.
