On Thursday the NFL and NFLPA took a step towards forming a new Collective Bargaining Agreement when ProFootballTalk.com announced they would be entering seven days of negotiations.RELATED: NFL, NFLPA to enter week of negotiations
On Friday, the day the negotiations were set to begin, the NFL and NFLPA released a joint statement:
George Cohen, the director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, has requested, and both sides have agreed, that the NFL Players Association and the NFL refrain from making any public comments about any aspect of the mediation process. The process began today under the direction of Mr. Cohen.
