Lynch apologizes for DUI, negative attention

Bay Area high school and college phenom football player Marshawn Lynch issued a statement after he was arrested Saturday night on suspicious of driving under the influence.
I want to apologize to my family, the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL and the 12th Man for the negative attention resulting from my recent actions. This is not the type of community leader I have been over the last two years or the one I'm striving to become. I want to assure everyone that I will work to be better and look forward to a very exciting, and very successful season with the Seattle Seahawks.REWIND: Lynch arrested on suspicion of DUI

After a standout career at Cal, Lynch was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. He has resurrected his career since a trade to the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.

Lynch signed a four-year, 31 million extension with Seattle in March.

Lynch, 26, is no stranger to off-the-field controversy. In 2008, Lynch's driver's license was revoked after he struck a woman outside a Buffalo bar and pleaded guilty to "failing to exercise due care toward a pedestrian." A misdemeanor weapons charge in 2009 led to a three-game suspension for Lynch.
