San Francisco, CASan Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum announced today that he will be contributing 25,000 to the Bryan Stow Fund to benefit the 42-year old Giants fan who was critically injured in an attack after the Giants-Dodgers game on March 31.Stow, a Santa Clara County paramedic, currently remains in a medically-induced coma. The Bryan Stow Fund was set up by his family at the San Francisco Police Credit Union and all proceeds will help defray medical bills and aid the Stow family. Lincecum said, This was a senseless act of violence and I wanted to help out Mr. Stow and his family. Its also close to me because not only is Mr. Stow a Giants fan, but I have family and friends who are firefighters, police officers and paramedics and this honors their service to the community. I encourage Giants fans to support Mr. Stow in a positive way and hope there are not any more unfortunate acts between fans in this great rivalry. We are all deeply saddened by this tragic event, said Michael R. Sordelli, CEO of the SF Police Credit Union. It is overwhelmingly moving that the community, and people like Tim Lincecum, have generously donated to help this first responder and his family during this difficult time. For updates on Bryan Stow, please visit http:www.support4bryanstow.comFor more information on Tim Lincecum, visit http:www.facebook.comtimlincecum
