Kings coach Terry Murray has been known to let his hockey passion get the better of him. He blasted Kings fans in March after his team was booed off the ice in a 4-0 loss to St. Louis -- on the heels of a 4-0 road trip.

Murray said the behavior of the Staples Center crowd last month was "the most embarrassing thing I have ever been through" only to follow up a day later with a mea culpa.

"I overreacted probably, in saying . . . you don't want to drag them into the reason why, but I did. There's nothing I can do about it now," Murray said.

Will he have the same remorse about his comments to Sharks forward Dany Heatley following Game 4?

With slightly more than three minutes on the clock in the 6-3 San Jose win, Heatley tripped Kings defenseman Alec Martinez -- kicking his feet out from behind, a move known as "slewfooting."

Heatley was penalized, but Murray clearly didn't feel that justice had been served.

He called out Heatley in his postgame media session, saying there was no place in hockey for "slewfooting."

Murray labeled the play gutless and called it a sure way to break a leg or blow out a knee.

Slew-footing can result in a major penalty, an ejection and could result in a fine or suspension.

The NHL indicated Friday in an email with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area that no disciplinary action would be taken on Heatley.
