WBA and WBO lightweight champion Robert Guerrero has signed a deal to fight Marcos Maidana on August 27 at HP Pavilion in San Jose.

The deal still needs Maidana's signature.
The Gilroy fighter, own as "The Ghost," issued the following on his Twitter account on Friday:
I've signed to fight Maidana, waiting on him to sign now. This fight is for the fans! I'm going all out and will put everything on the line!If he signs we will be doing battle at the HP Pavilion in San Jose August 27. Bay Area fans, let's show the world how we can pack the house!
Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KOs) is reportedly moving up in weight class to challenge Maidana (30-2, 27 KOs), the WBA junior welterweight champion.

Guerrero and Maidana each fought on April 9 as part of an HBO pay-per-view card in Las Vegas. Guerrero won a decision over Michael Katsidis to claim two vacant lightweight belts; Maidana captured the vacant interim junior welterweight crown by decisioning Erik Morales.
