The Giants on Wednesday afternoon agreed to terms with right-handed reliever Santiago Casilla on a one-year contract for 2011, a team source told CSNBayArea.com.

Terms of the contract, which allowed the Giants to avoid arbitration, were not immediately available. The two sides exchanged salary figures earlier in the week with several reports indicating the deal was for 1.3 million.

Casilla, 30, proved to be a valuable middle-to-late inning member of the San Francisco bullpen down the stretch. He won seven games and posted 56 strikeouts.

He compiled a 1.95 ERA in 55 13 innings, stranding 41 of 47 inherited baserunners, the second-best ratio in the big leagues in 2010.

The 6-foot, 200-pound native of the Dominican Republic, is expected to full a similar role this season. Casilla, a non-roster invitee to spring training last season, earned 400,000 in 2010.
