Instead, the Giants will activate him, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Tejada was placed on the DL on July 11 with an abdominal strain.
Although nothing is official, the announcement heightened speculation that the Giants will place outfielder Carlos Beltran on the DL. The San Jose Mercury News reported that Beltran will be the corresponding transaction shortly after 1 p.m.
Beltran has missed seven straight games since injuring his right hand on a swing against Philadelphia on Aug. 7. If he is placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Aug. 8, Beltran could return for the start of the Giants' 12-game homestand, which begins Aug. 23 against San Diego.
Beltran was batting .244 with a double, two triples and two RBIs in 11 games.

Jon Laaser, Richmond's Director of Broadcasting issued the following statement Tuesday:
"Unfortunately, there has been a change in the San Francisco Giants plans regarding Miguel Tejada joining the Flying Squirrels on a rehab assignment. He will not be joining the club tonight as planned, and there is currently no publicized timetable for him to come to Richmond. I also do not have information available as to the precise reason for the change in plan."
Beltran has been taking anti-inflammatories and icing his hand. X-rays and an MRI revealed no structural damage.
Details about the status of San Francisco's roster will be provided as soon as they become available.
