Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval and utility infielder Mike Fontenot started for the Fresno Grizzlies Thursday as they work back towards joining the big league club.
Sandoval, making his second start for the Triple-A Grizzlies, went two-for-three with two RBI and a walk against the Salt Lake Bees. He played third base.
Sandoval made his Grizzlies debut on Tuesday with a two-run home run and four RBIs. He has been out since April 30 with a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist but plans on returning to the team next Tuesday, when San Francisco opens a road series in Arizona.

Fontenot, batting in the two-hole, played second base and was hitless in two at bats.

Fontenot was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left groin strain on May 26.
