Additionally, it was confirmed that Sharks fourth-line forward Jamal Mayers has signed with Chicago. He signed a one-year deal. He had three goals and 11 assists in 78 games with San Jose in 2011-11.
Eager scored seven goals and recorded 17 points last season. The Sharks traded for him in January, sending Atlanta a fifth-round draft pick. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder appeared in 10 postseason games for the Sharks.
In 323 NHL games Eager has compiled 34 goals, 69 points and 741 penalty minutes.
He may well be remembered by Sharks fans for a disastrous Western Conference Final Game 2, when he spent a total of 20 minutes in the penalty box.
