“Dallas Braden provides a rare combination of deep baseball knowledge, passion for the game and love for the green and gold. He has a true connection with A’s fans, and we’re looking forward to seeing him in a much more substantial role in 2018,” said David Koppett, VP of Content Strategy for NBC Sports California.
Ray Fosse, a 33-year broadcasting veteran and multiple Emmy Award-winner who played in the majors for 12 seasons, won two World Championships (1973, 1974) with the A’s, along with two Gold Gloves (1970, 1971) and played in two All-Star Games (1970, 1971), remains NBC Sports California’s primary A’s analyst.
Braden, a Stockton native, spent five seasons with the A’s (2007-2011). On May 9, 2010, he pitched the nineteenth perfect game in MLB history when he defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in Oakland on Mother’s Day. Braden pitched for Stagg High School in Stockton, then went on to play at Texas Tech University. He was drafted by the A’s in 2004 and made his debut with the club in 2007. After his playing career, Braden worked at ESPN (2014-2017) as a studio analyst and color analyst. Prior to the 2017 MLB season, he joined NBC Sports California as a studio analyst for the network’s signature shows A’s Pregame Live and A’s Postgame Live.
Tsuboi will be joining the broadcast team during select home games during the 50th anniversary season. She has been a member of the Athletics family since 2009, serving as the in-stadium host for home games. Tsuboi will continue in her prior role when she is not part of the NBC Sports California broadcast. Prior to her time with the A’s, Kara served as a technology reporter for CNET and CBS Interactive.
