After sending rookie pitcher Kyle McClellan to the disabled list, the St. Louis Cardinals have recalled right-hander Lance Lynn from Triple-A Memphis. Lynn will start Thursday in the series finale, as the Giants will attempt to take three of four in St. Louis.

Lynn was a first-round pick in the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft and will be making his big league debut. This season for Triple-A Memphis, Lynn is 5-3 with a 4.06 ERA.

Lynn was named the Cardinals organizational Pitcher-of-the-Year in 2009 after jumping three levels in his first full pro season.

Last September, Lynn broke the Memphis Redbirds' franchise strikeout record, fanning 16 Oklahoma City RedHawks.
