Trailing 8-5 entering the bottom of the 9th, Cal stormed back against Baylor's Logan Berrett. After Pac-10 Player of the Year Tony Renda delivered an RBI single, Marcus Semien struck out, bringing Devon Rodriguez to the plate. With two strikes, the sophomore first baseman singled to right field bringing home the game-winning runs.
The Bears opened the regional last Friday with a loss to Baylor, but bounced back on Saturday defeating both Alcorn State and No. 1 seed Rice. Cal then dismantled Baylor 8-0 Sunday, setting up Monday's win-or-go-home game.
Cal will next face Dallas Baptist, who survived the Fort Worth regional by holding off Oral Roberts on Monday night.
Cal is the fourth Pac-10 team to advance to the super regionals, and Arizona has the chance to become the fifth if they beat Texas A&M Tuesday afternoon.
