"He wanted to throw today," Bochy said after his pitchers and catchers finished their morning workout at Scottsdale Stadium. "But we just felt that it's better off right now backing him off."Wilson, who has suffered from minor back issues in the past without missing much time, arrived at camp early Thursday morning for treatment and wasn't available for comment in the clubhouse before he left the facility. He did not speak with reporters Wednesday, either. "We think this is a minor, spring-training-type deal," Bochy said. "We'll see how he feels tomorrow, and if it's still a little tight, we'll back him off again. But he's fine, really."

For Lincecum, who was held out of fielding drills and sprints Wednesday, it was business as usual. He threw his regular bullpen session under the watchful eye of pitching coach Dave Righetti and drew a steady stream of "attaboys" from catcher Eli Whiteside while getting his work in."He threw the ball well," Bochy said.
