Sergio Romo was activated from the DL yesterday and it was believed that he could assume the closer role with Brian Wilson on the disabled list himself.

However, we now know that Santiago Casilla will remain the closer, and Romo will stay in his 8th inning role.

"Sergio is right off the DL and we need to monitor his work load," Bochy told CSNBayArea.com. We don't want to push him too hard, so we are going to keep him where he's been successful."

Bochy didn't commit to Casilla as the sole closer until Wilson returns from the DL (which is unclear when that will happen) but he will serve in that capacity tonight.

"Santiago has done a great job and he's ready to go, so there's no reason not to go with him as the closer tonight."

Could this change if Casilla blows a save? We will wait and see.
