A's recall Dan Straily from Sacramento

The As have recalled pitcher Dan Straily from Triple-A Sacramento, the team announced today. Straily was optioned to Sacramento on August 20 when Brett Anderson was reinstated from the disabled list. After his option, Straily went 1-0 with a 4.61 ERA in three starts with the River Cats.
For the A's this seaosn, Straily started three games and went 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA.RELATED: Dan Straily 2012 game logsAlthough no official move has been announced, it seems likely that Straily will take Brandon McCarthy's spot in the A's rotation. McCarthy took a line drive off his head on Wednesday that resulted in anepidural hemorrhage, brain contusion and skull fracture.McCarthy is recovering from surgery to relieve pressure in his skull at an East Bay hospital.Straily, a 23-year-old right-hander, led all of minor league baseball with 190 strikeouts. He has starts this year in Double-A Midland, Triple-A Sacramento and with the A's.Oakland A's media services contributed to this report
