The A's placed left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson and second baseman Mark Ellis on the disabled list Tuesday and filled their open spots on the roster with Bobby Cramer and top prospect Jemile Weeks.
Dallas Braden was transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day DL to make room for Weeks, brother of Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks, on the 40-man roster.

Anderson experienced decreased velocity and control in his last two outings against the Yankees and Red Sox and is now experiencing left elbow soreness, leading to speculation that he may need Tommy John surgery.
Ellis left Monday's game against the Orioles with a right hamstring strain, leading the A's to call up Weeks, who is batting .321 in 45 games with the Sacramento River Cats.
