A'S NEWSA'S VIDEO

CSNCalifornia.comPhoenix, AZI spoke with Rich Harden just 48 hours ago about his return to the green and gold, his ambition to be a part of the starting rotation, and his personal goal to stay healthy. A new season and new hopes for the right-handed pitcher, but already Harden is faced with a familiar situation, setback.
Bob Geren started his morning media session at Phoenix Municipal Stadium by saying, "Bad news. Harden had a little setback."
After throwing four bullpen sessions, Harden had stiffness under his arm and will be shut down until he's pain-free.
Geren and the training staff estimate it'll be a couple of weeks. The 'good news' as Geren put it, is that Harden had a strong winter where he was on a good throwing program with no setbacks, so when Rich is ready to go, Geren doesn't think he'll be too far behind.
But I did ask Skip if this will affect Harden's chances of making the rotation at the 5th spot.
"Definitely," Geren said. "When he's pain-free we'll see what his timeline is and where is performance level is at."
Harden threw about 10-15 pitches Tuesday before stopping due to pain.
