What they’re saying: Stanford’s VanDerveer makes history with 1,000 wins

Stanford women's basketball head coach Tara VanDerveer is now only the third D-I coach with 1,000 career wins.

After Stanford's 58-42 win against USC at home on Friday, VanDerveer joined just former Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt (1,098) and current Duke men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski (1,060) as the only three to accomplish the milestone.

Once the final buzzer went off to mark the historic win, congratulations began pouring in.
