Stanford up to No. 4 in BCS

After their dramatic triple-overtime victory over USC last night, the Cardinal were rewarded as they ascended two spots to No.4 in the BCS.

LSU holds down the top spot, with Alabama and Oklahoma State close behind. Boise State rounds out the top 5, followed by Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oregon, South Carolina, and Nebraska.

Either No. 1 LSU or No. 2 Alabama will lose next Saturday as the two juggernauts meet in Tuscaloosa in one of the most highly anticipated regular season matchups in recent memory.

Consequently, should Stanford take care of business at Oregon State next Saturday, they will most likely move up a spot in next week's standings. However, it's possible that the loser of LSU-Alabama only drops to No. 3 and stays ahead of the Cardinal.

No. 3 Oklahoma State hosts the No. 14 Kansas State Wildcats, who were clobbered at home by Oklahoma yesterday, 58-17.

Stanford's No. 4 ranking ties their highest spot in the BCS standings in school history. The Cardinal checked in at No. 4 in the final 2010 BCS standings.
