Stanford falls to No. 9 in BCS

Following their 53-30 loss to Oregon on Saturday night, Stanford plummeted to No. 9 in the latest BCS standings.

Although their BCS title game and Rose hopes are all but dashed, they could still find their way into a BCS game.

If Stanford takes care of business by beating Cal in the Big Game next Saturday, and then beats the Irish of Notre Dame the week after, it is likely they will end up in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

By beating Stanford, Oregon replaced the Cardinal at No. 4. The Ducks remaining schedule consists of home games against USC and Oregon State, followed by hosting the inaugural Pac-12 Championship Game.

LSU and Oklahoma State hold down the No. 1 and No. 2 spots respectively, and if both finish the season undefeated, will certainly meet in the BCS title game.

The Alabama Crimson Tide check in at No. 3, as they hope either the Tigers or Cowboys slip up to give them a shot to play for a national championship.
