San Jose State head football coach Mike MacIntyre is leaving the program to accept the same position at Colorado, a school source has confirmed to CSNBayArea.com.
MacIntyre led the Spartans to a 10-2 record this season, a berth in the Military Bowl against Bowling Green, and has the team ranked currently No. 24 in the BCS standings.
It is unknown whether he will coach the Spartans in their bowl game on Dec. 27 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.
In his first season at the helm in 2010, San Jose State finished with a 1-11 record. That mark improved to 5-7 in 2011.
