Cal receives big commitment from Ali's grandson

Weeks before the regular season begins, the Cal Bears received a big commitment for the 2017 recruiting class. 

Biaggio Ali-Walsh, a three-star running back from from Las Vegas, announced his commitment to Cal Sunday on Twitter. Along with 2,451 yards on the ground and 33 touchdowns as a junior at powerhouse Bishop Gorman High Shcool, Ali-Walsh will bring plenty of name recognition to Berkeley as the grandson of the late great Muhammad Ali. 

Ali-Walsh beat out his quarterback Tate Martell, an Ohio State commit, as the Gatorade Nevada State Player of the Year after last season.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound all-purpose running back chose Cal over plenty other prestigious schools. He also received offers from Louisville, Arizona, Colorado, San Diego State, Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, Vanderbilt, and Dartmouth.

With the addition of Ali-Walsh, Cal now has nine commitments to the 2017 recruiting class.
