Cal starting forward Richard Solomon will be sidelined for at least two games due to what is believed to be a stress fracture or stress reaction in his foot, coach Mike Montgomery announced Monday.
"We hope to have him back on the court, after Christmas, in time for the start of the Pac-12 season," Montgomery said in a statement.
The Bears will be without Solomon for two challenging games this week starting tonight against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.

Cal will take on No. 2123 UNLV in Las Vegas on Friday.
Solomon did not play in Cal's loss at San Diego State on Dec. 4 or in the Bears' home win over San Jose State on Dec. 7 after being suspended for "conduct contrary to university and athletic department values."
In nine games this season Solomon is averaging 6.6 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game.
