The elder Sanders won the 1988 Heisman Trophy as a junior at Oklahoma State and set the all-time NCAA single season record with 2,628 rushing yards, 234 points scored and 39 touchdowns.

He is No. 3 on the NFL's all-time rushing list with 15,269 yards. In 1997, the Detroit Lions star rushed for 2,053 yards and 11 touchdowns. Sanders posted 10 consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons (1989-1998) and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
