Yogi Ferrell upgraded, but Kings banged up going up against Warriors

The Sacramento Kings travel to Seattle banged up. They’ve played light all week, which will continue when they face off with the Golden State Warriors Friday evening at Key Arena.

Dave Joerger has plenty of bodies to work with. He went 13 deep Thursday against the Lakers, playing three camp invitees and two-way player Wenyen Gabriel more than 14 minutes each.

Yogi Ferrell has been upgraded. After scoring 26 points in the team’s win over Phoenix on Monday, he sat out against LA with a sprained his right thumb. He’s questionable to play against Golden State, so there is a 50/50 shot that he suits up.

Nemanja Bjelica continues to miss time with a sore left knee. Bjelica is out against the Warriors, but the injury isn’t considered serious and he’s listed as day-to-day moving forward.

Iman Shumpert continues to miss time with a sore left calf. Like Bjelica, Shumpert is considered day-to-day. The veteran wing played 14 games last season due to knee and plantar fasciitis issues.

Kosta Koufos strained his right hamstring last Sunday during practice. The team plans to re-evaluate the injury next week.

Bogdan Bogdanovic is out after undergoing a knee procedure almost two weeks ago. The original diagnosis was for Bogdanovic to miss 4-6 weeks, which puts his return in the neighborhood of 2-4 weeks from Monday.

Veteran Zach Randolph has yet to appear in a game during the preseason. The 37-year-old big man is healthy, but the coaching staff is allowing the team’s young fleet of bigs an opportunity to see extra minutes during the exhibition schedule.
