SACRAMENTO - The Kings coaching search is heating up, but it’s a long ways from being done. Sam Mitchell came through Sacramento last week and multiple sources have confirmed to CSN California that Vinny Del Negro was in town to interview for the Kings coaching vacancy on Monday. But Vlade Divac is just getting started.
Hall of Fame big man and former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale has already had exploratory conversations with the Kings brass. He is well liked within the organization and thought by many to be a front runner for the position.

Clippers assistant Mike Woodson is slated to come to Sacramento soon and former Kings and current Memphis Grizzlies assistant Elston Turner has been added to the ever growing list of candidates. The search has already yielded 15 names or more and could grow before this is all over.
While the coaching search is in its fledgling state, the search for front office help has taken a step backwards. David Morway, who worked for both the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks in the past has been in conversations to join the team for some time. But CSN has confirmed that he is no longer a candidate for the job.
All indications are that the Kings will continue to engage in a broad, expansive process to find a head coach as well as add to their front office with a seasoned veteran executive.
