The Kings victory beam has been shining bright after all 16 wins of the team's opening 28 games. But now, it will shine even brighter to the amusement of Sacramento coach Mike Brown.
"Coach Brown, we heard you and made The Beam a lot brighter," Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé posted to Instagram on Saturday, "just in time for our six-game holiday homestand."
The victory beam initially consisted of four purple lasers sitting atop Golden 1 Center in the form of 1,000 watts of RGB power, the brightest full-color laser equipment in the world. But over the weekend, the Kings added additional lasers to its purple spectacle to further light up the Sacramento skyline.

Brown jokingly pleaded for a brighter beam following the Kings' 123-96 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 3. That game tipped off at 1 p.m. PT and finished before dusk, causing Brown and his coaching staff to question what happens when the Kings win during the daylight.
"[Assistant coach] Doug Christie goes, 'Vivek and [chief operation officer] Matina [Kolokotronis] are going to have to get a stronger beam.' ... I'm sure if they light the beam now, not many people can see it," Brown said. "So, we've got to get a stronger beam.
"Matina, [Vivek], it starts with you two. [Kings president of business operations John Rinehart], you're in the mix too. Figure out how the beam can be seen with the 1 p.m. game today and any other future games that we win during the day."
Now that Brown's request has been fulfilled, he wants Kings fans to test the new and improved beam.
"I'm calling on all of Sacramento," Brown joked at practice Sunday [via Brenden Nunes of The Kings Herald]. "When the beam is up, send your photo in of the beam and put your location and send it to the Kings account. If you're in Orangevale, put Orangevale. If you're in Loomis, put Loomis.
"If you can't see it when you're out there, let me know. And I'm going to call B.S. to Vivek."
The Kings debuted the victory beam after their first win of the season, a 119-113 triumph over the Miami Heat at Golden 1 Center. It has taken a life of its own since that night. Kings fans chant "light the beam!" at Golden 1 Center and on the road when victory is in sight.
Behind the energetic coaching style of Brown, a fun-loving roster and a newfound winning formula, the Kings have become the sweethearts of the NBA. And it all goes back to the beam.

“I just like the notion that this just goes into outer space,” Ranadivé told NBC Sports California in an exclusive interview in November. “It goes farther than the human eye can see. As a tech guy, having four lasers beaming into outer space is kind of cool.
“I want aliens to see it. I want it to go so far out that everyone can see it.”
If the aliens initially couldn't see the victory beam, they sure can now.
