Kings general manager Monte McNair has a punch list, and he’s quietly getting near the bottom of it.
NBC Sports California confirmed through a league source that McNair has inked third-year shooting guard Terence Davis to a new two-year contract.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the news, citing Davis' agency.

Davis becomes the third Kings player to re-sign with the team this offseason, joining Moe Harkless and Richaun Holmes. Like Harkless, Davis joined the Kings at the trade deadline, coming from the Toronto Raptors for a 2021 second round pick.
After a very successful first season in Toronto, Davis struggled last season both on and off the court for Nick Nurse’s squad. The trade that brought him to Sacramento seemed to be the fresh start he needed.

In a 27-game audition in Sacramento, Davis averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game. With both De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton injured down the stretch of the season, Davis flourished, especially in the final 10 games of the season where he posted 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 27.7 minutes per game.

Davis brings toughness, defense and 3-point shooting to the table. He’s an energizer that should work extremely well off the bench alongside rookie point guard Davion Mitchell.
With three of his own players retained, as well as the free agent acquisition of Alex Len and a trade for Tristan Thompson, McNair has added depth and a new attitude to his team.
The Kings still need to balance out the roster, but McNair can now move forward from a stronger bargaining position. There is still plenty that can be done, but the framework of an improved squad is in place.
