A day after the Kings brought back Hassan Whiteside, Sacramento added even more frontcourt depth. Sacramento agreed to a one-year, nonguaranteed deal with big man Frank Kaminsky, a source confirmed to NBC Sports California's James Ham.
Kaminsky's agent first told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski of the agreement.

SIGN UP HERE Kaminsky, 27, played just 39 games for the Phoenix Suns last season while dealing with a stress fracture in his right kneecap. He played limited in minutes during Phoenix's undefeated run in the NBA bubble just outside of Orlando, Fla. this summer, averaging 9.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game on the season. Kaminsky played just 47 games in the previous season, falling in and out of James Borrego's rotation.
The Hornets drafted Kaminsky No. 9 overall in 2015, following a standout four-year career at Wiconsin. Kaminsky mostly has been a reserve in the NBA, and he figures to be one for the Kings. As a 34.7 percent 3-point shooter in his career, Kaminsky could stretch the floor alongside Whiteside, Richaun Holmes or Marvin Bagley. Perhaps coach Luke Walton even experiments and plays Kaminsky with Nemanja Bjelica, who's a 39. 3 percent shooter on 3-pointers in his career.

Kaminsky won't be confused with a defensive stopper, but his shooting ability off the bench can help the Kings. Kent Bazemore signed with the Warriors and the Atlanta Hawks' offer sheet to Bogdan Bogdanovic wasn't matched, ensuring Sacramento lost two of its best 3-point shooters from last season. Kaminsky wasn't as effective as either player, of course, but Bjelica and Harrison Barnes (38.1 percent) were the only capable shooters in the Kings' frontcourt last season.
