The Kings wasted little time filling their open roster spot.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday, citing sources, that the Kings are signing 26-year-old guard P.J. Dozier to a 10-day contract.
Dozier has played 105 NBA games in his career since debuting with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2018. He is familiar with Kings associate head coach Jordi Fernandez, as the two spent three seasons together from 2019-22 on the Denver Nuggets. Dozier averaged 6.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19 minutes per game for Denver while shooting 32.1 percent from 3-point range.
Dozier was traded twice last season. He signed a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves in September but was waived one month later and has spent the season with the G League Iowa Wolves, logging 14.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
The 6-foot-6 guard will join a talented backcourt in Sacramento featuring De'Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk, Davion Mitchell, Terence Davis and veteran Matthew Dellavedova.
Sacramento opened a roster spot Friday by waiving forward Chima Moneke. The Kings also opted to guarantee the contracts of Dellavedova and forward KZ Okpala on Friday, three days before the league's deadline for non-guaranteed contracts on Tuesday.

NBA teams are allowed to sign the same player to two 10-day contracts. After the second 10-day deal is complete, the team must sign that player for the rest of the season.
The Kings (20-18) continue their five-game homestand Monday night with a matchup against the Orlando Magic (15-25).
