Report: Kings out on Simmons trade talks with 76ers

At long last, it appears the possibility of Ben Simmons coming to Sacramento has hit zero. The Kings have ended trade conversations with the Philadelphia 76ers regarding Simmons and have "turned elsewhere," ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday morning citing league sources.

The Kings have been one of the "most aggressive teams" on the trade market, and "are determined to reshape their roster and remain engaged on several other fronts," Wojnarowski reported.

Amid a five-game losing streak, the Kings likely are examining deals for any number of the team's top players. Veterans like Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield seem more likely to be dealt than young stars like De'Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton.

Simmons remains away from the 76ers organization, and has not played in a game this season.

Now that the Kings are out of the Simmons sweepstakes, we will see what other possibilities open up for general manager Monte McNair and his front office before the Feb. 10 trade deadline.
