Delon Wright wore the No. 55 at both junior college and Utah, and in three of his first four professional stops in the NBA.
So when he came to the Kings in a trade on deadline day, he hoped to continue rocking his favorite number. However, Jason Williams previously wore the number and was a fan favorite, with his throwback jersey still a big seller online. But with Williams' blessing, Wright announced on social media that he will be wearing No. 55 for the Kings starting with Saturday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wright shouted out Williams in his Tweet on Saturday.

"White Chocolate" played his first three NBA seasons with the Kings, finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting and dazzling Sacramento fans with his dizzying ballhandling skills.
Williams averaged 11.3 points and 6.3 assists over his 208 games with the Kings, but was traded to the then-Vancouver Grizzlies following the 2000-01 season.

The point guard was a teammate of Wright's older brother Dorell when the two played for the Miami Heat from 2005-2008.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive reaction to Wright's message paying tribute to Williams, the city of Sacramento still has love for the shifty point guard.
Hopefully for the Kings, Wright can echo some of that remarkable handle as he makes his Kings debut.
