Murray shares hilarious reason for not wearing DPOG chain

By now, Kings fans should know that Keegan Murray is a very practical player and won't do anything just for the sake of doing it.

And so, when Murray went to go speak with reporters after the Kings' 138-114 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday at Moda Center sans Sacramento's signature Defensive Player of the Game chain around his neck, the rookie gave a very on-brand answer.

"I don't know, it was too heavy," Murray explained when asked why he left the chain in the locker room. "But nah, I just didn't feel like wearing it.

"I think a lot of guys wear it up here though."

Despite Murray leaving the chain with his teammates, the rookie mentioned that the rest of the team did snap some photos of the 22-year-old rocking the seemingly heavy piece of jewelry.

"Yeah they got pictures -- it's the least I can do," Murray concluded.

Friday night marked the second time Murray got to wear the DPOG chain, with the first being on Dec. 22 when the rookie had a career outing against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

And considering how stoked he was after breaking the NBA record for most 3-pointers made by a rookie, Murray's reaction to getting the DPOG chain shouldn't be a surprise to Kings fans.
