Richaun Holmes and his ex-wife, Allexis, will appear in a Sacramento County court next week, as the Kings center faces domestic violence allegations she has levied against him, the Sacramento Bee reported Wednesday, citing court documents.
Allexis Holmes, who has been divorced from Richaun since 2019, alleged in a court filing cited by The Bee that their 6-year-old son came home from a Feb. 6 visitation with his father “with a bloody knock over his head.” Allexis Holmes also is seeking a restraining order against Richaun Holmes on behalf of her son, and the sides are scheduled to appear in court on March 30.
Richaun Holmes’ lawyer, Ann Moder, told The Bee that her client denies all allegations and is an “exemplary parent.”

“We expect the other side to continue to manufacture claims and present misleading information of all types,” Moder said. “But Richaun will continue to focus on ensuring he can spend the most time with his son and supporting him in every way possible.”
A judge has ordered Holmes to stay away from his son until next week’s court date, per The Bee.
Shortly after The Bee’s report was published, Holmes posted four tweets defending himself against the allegations, but they were quickly deleted.
Holmes' mother, Dr. Lydecia Holmes, also tweeted in defense of her son.
Shortly before 9 p.m. PT on Wednesday, the Kings issued a brief statement regarding Holmes.
"The entire Sacramento Kings organization would like to express our strong stance against any form of assault and domestic violence. We respect the legal process and will continue to monitor the situation closely."
NBA
The Kings announced last Friday that Holmes would miss the remainder of the 2021-22 NBA regular season for personal reasons. Holmes said in a statement released by the Kings that “I would like to thank everyone for their support during these difficult times. I love this team, I love my teammates and I look forward to returning next year.”
Added Kings general manager Monte McNair in that team-issued statement: “Richaun is a core member of our team, who is very important to our success. We fully support Rich and look forward to seeing him back on the court for the 2022-23 NBA season.”
Holmes, 28, has played three seasons with the Kings and seven in the NBA, also spending time with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns.
