It looks like Kings rookie Keegan Murray can add his NBA 2K23 rating as additional fuel to perform well in the 2022-23 NBA season.
On Tuesday, NBA 2K released the ratings for the first five draft picks in the 2022 NBA Draft and the summer league MVP is tied for the third-highest rating among rookies.

No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero and No. 3 pick Jabari Smith both have a 78 rating while No. 2 pick Chet Holmgren has a 77.
Both Murray and No. 5 pick Jaden Ivey are tied at 76, despite the former outplaying the aforementioned picks in the summer. Albeit, in a small sample size.
This is not the first time Murray's ability has been underplayed. Earlier in August, ESPN insiders gave the Kings rookie only 11.1 percent of the first-place votes to win Rookie of the Year, with Banchero garnering 50 percent.
That said, ratings tend to fluctuate throughout the season so it's not outside the realm of possibility to see Murray's rating surpass 80, considering he probably will be a focal point for the Kings.
