How Fox matched LeBron, MJ in Kings' first four playoff games

  • Programming note: Kings fans can watch complete Game 5 coverage Wednesday on NBC Sports California, NBCSportsCalifornia.com and the NBC Sports app. “Kings Pregame Live” starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by Mark Jones and Kayte Christensen on the game broadcast at 7, with “Kings Postgame Live” immediately after the game.

Kings star guard De'Aaron Fox is in the NBA playoffs for the first time in his career, and he's making the most of his opportunity.

Through Sacramento's first four playoff games in its opening-round series against the Golden State Warriors, Fox has put up some incredible numbers. In fact, his stats are so good that two of the NBA's greatest players of all time are the only ones to post similar stats in the same timeframe, as pointed out by The Associated Press' Josh Dubow.

Fox. James. Jordan.

The Kings All-Star's 31.5 points, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game this postseason are made all the most impressive considering he scored seven points and grabbed two boards in the final minutes of Game 4 on Sunday at Chase Center after sustaining a broken index finger in his left shooting hand.

And as Sacramento's best player on the court during their first NBA playoff appearance in 17 years, Fox vowed he'll suit up for Game 5 on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center despite his injury.

Fox's broken finger could greatly hamper his play, so there's no telling if he'll be able to substantially add to his playoff totals against the Warriors in their pivotal Game 5 matchup.

But with the best-of-seven series tied at two games apiece, Fox and Co. certainly will give the matchup their all
