The Kings were dealt a heartbreaking 110-107 loss by the Miami Heat on Wednesday at FTX Arena when Tyler Herro sank the game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds left on the clock.
However, the shot came with controversy as the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report released Thursday revealed that the Heat guard traveled. Asked about the league's ruling a day later, Herro could not have cared less.

“I didn’t have any thoughts, to be honest,” Herro said on Friday before Miami’s game against the Indiana Pacers (h/t Ira Winderman of Sun Sentinel). “I really don’t care at all.
“Maybe, if it ended in a loss, maybe. But we won. And like I said, I didn’t look at it, I don’t care. I’m just going to play my game, and if they call a travel, they call a travel.”
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra went down a different path than Herro when talking about what occurred in the play, noting that these are tough decisions that referees have to make in real time.
“We have been in those situations,” Spoelstra said. “They’re just really tough calls at the end of games and we’ve been on both sides of it. So I can understand probably the frustration on their side of it.

“As Tyler went into his move, I thought he got to his spot, he shot faked. It looked normal. It didn’t look like any kind of egregious travel. So that’s really it. The game can be decided in so many different ways and not just a whistle at the end of a game.”

The Kings and Heat are done playing this 2022-23 NBA season, so the controversial play will likely be brought up should Sacramento fall short of a play-in or playoff spot.
