The Kings' 2021 season took another hit when prized rookie Tyrese Haliburton left Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks after sustaining a left knee injury.
The Kings announced that Haliburton would not return to the game.

Kings coach Luke Walton confirmed to reporters after the game that Haliburton will undergo an MRI on Monday.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who first reported Sunday night that Haliburton would get an MRI, cited sources who said there is "optimism" that the rookie is not seriously injured.
Less than five minutes into the third quarter at American Airlines Center, Haliburton attempted to make a cut at half-court on a fastbreak and appeared to hyperextend his left knee.
Replays show Haliburton immediately grab for his left knee before falling to the court and crawling to the sideline.
The 21-year-old was eventually helped to the locker room for further evaluation.
With star point guard De'Aaron Fox in the NBA's health and safety protocols, Haliburton was getting a chance to start and run the show.

In 23 minutes of action Sunday, Haliburton had 11 points and five assists. He was a plus-8 when he left the game.

Haliburton entered Sunday's game averaging 13.0 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 57 games this season.
With the Kings clinging to slim hopes of making the Western Conference play-in tournament, the last thing they need is a serious injury to Haliburton.
