Brown teases Murray for lack of swag with Kings DPOG chain

Keegan Murray had himself a night Wednesday.

“Confidence” was the word used to describe the Kings' rookie forward after his career game in Sacramento’s 134-120 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Golden 1 Center.

That confidence, however, apparently diminished in the locker room after the game. Murray's impressive performance against LeBron James and Co. earned him the iconic, blinged-out Defensive Player of the Game chain.

But Mike Brown hilariously exposed what really went on in the locker room.

“From what I heard, this is rumor mill now, I heard he broke it,” the Kings coach told reporters postgame. “It’s going to eat into his lottery money if he did.”

It didn’t end there. Brown couldn’t help himself from taking the time to poke more fun at Murray.

“The second thing is, when we handed it out to [Domantas Sabonis] and [Harrison Barnes], they’ve had a lot of swag when they put it on. And literally, they put the chain on Keegan, and Keegan just stood here like this,” Brown said as he stood up in a still pose while the room erupted in laughter. “And they were like, ‘Have some swag! Do something!’ and so Keegan was like, ‘Come on over, come on over,’ and then he just stood there.

“He might not want to bring it up because if you ask his teammates, about his swag when it went across his neck, he might get killed a little bit.”

Well, you can't have it all, right?

Murray finished the game with a career-high-tying 23 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field, and added a plus/minus rating of plus-24. So, it's safe to say his confidence is back, and his swagger is ... still loading.
