Mike Brown might need to have a talk with Kevin Huerter after the Kings guard accidentally spilled the beans at practice on Monday.
After the team confirmed that star center Domantas Sabonis “sustained an avulsion fracture of the ulnar collateral ligament of the right thumb” and listed him as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, many wondered what that meant for the starting 5 role if Sabonis doesn’t play.
But before any fans or media could speculate who that might be, Huerter revealed it was Alex Len who filled in for Sabonis and practiced with the first group on Monday.

“It sounds like Kev already gave my secret away, so I have no more secrets for the rest of the day,” Brown told reporters Monday, laughing (h/t FOX 40).
“I will talk to him about that, yes.”
Oops.
After the cat was out of the bag, Brown talked a little about Len's game and why he chose to run with him at practice.

“Alex is a veteran that knows the league and played at a pretty high level this summer for Ukraine,” Brown told reporters Monday (h/t FOX 40). “He’s a professional. That’s what I enjoy. He’s always ready. After games when he doesn’t play, he’s up here getting extra wind sprints in, he’s getting his lift on, he comes back at night and gets shots up.

While Len practiced with the first five on Monday, it's unknown who Brown will go with to matchup against two-time MVP Nikola Jokić on Tuesday night. Brown has given Len, Richaun Holmes, Chimezie Metu and Neemias Queta a try at backup center this season.
Whoever it is, Brown probably won't be telling Huerter.
