Report: After just one season with Kings, Vince Carter agrees to deal with Hawks

Last season, the Sacramento Kings touted a locker room filled with veterans brought in to help develop the young players. George Hill, Zach Randolph and Vince Carter were added during the summer of 2017 to join Kosta Koufos and Garrett Temple as the veteran core. A year later, only Koufos and Randolph remain.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Carter inked a deal to join the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday afternoon, ending his short run with the Kings.

Carter, 41, finished his lone season with Sacramento averaging 5.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game off Dave Joerger’s bench.

The eight-time All-Star made it clear at the end of the 2017-18 campaign that he wanted to play at least one more season.

The future Hall of Famer was an instant fan favorite in Sacramento and spent plenty of time working with the young players on the roster.

In 20 seasons in the league, Carter ranks 22nd on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 24,868 points and eighth in 3-point makes with 2,106.
