Much like the Premier League, NBA players reportedly will be allowed to make a statement with their jerseys when the 2019-20 season resumes next month in Orlando.
The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Saturday night, citing sources, that the NBA and the Players Association are working with Nike to allow players to replace their name on the back of their jersey with a social justice statement.

While all Premier League teams replaced player names with "Black Lives Matter" on the back of jerseys, it appears the NBA isn't limiting the players to that statement.
NBA players have voiced their concerns over the league resuming the 2019-20 season, believing the games might distract from the racial equality movement that's happening all over the country.
In the wake of the death of George Floyd, a Black man, while in police custody in Minneapolis, protests have taken place nationwide. Black athletes all over the country have used their voice to push for change.

In early June, several current and former Kings players, including Harrison Barnes, marched in a peaceful protest in downtown Sacramento.
If the NBA and the Players Association make this move official, expect several -- if not all -- Kings players to use their jerseys as platforms for change while in Orlando.
