It’s almost time to get back to work.
The NBA is finishing up the final details on a return to play and the information is being reported by both Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and Shams Charania of The Athletic.
According to Woj, teams have been informed of the upcoming schedule of events, including a training camp in Orlando from July 9-29 with a season restart date of July 30. Before jumping into the abbreviated eight-game schedule to finish the season, teams will have three intrasquad scrimmages.

SIGN UP HERE Charania has a more detailed list of dates for once the season begins. The race for the 8th seed will run from July 30 to August 14. If the eighth seed is more than four games ahead in the standings, the league will begin their standard postseason on Aug. 17.

If the team with the ninth-best record in either conference is within three and a half games of the eighth-place team, the league plans to play a play-in tournament on Aug. 15-16. The eighth seed will have a double elimination, while the ninth-place team would have a single elimination.
If the Kings are lucky enough to survive the eight-game restart as either the eighth or ninth seed, followed by the play-in tournament, they would face the No. 1 overall seed in the Western Conference.
If somehow Sacramento pulled an upset, the second round of the playoffs starts on Aug. 31, the day after player families are allowed to join the festivities in Orlando.
As was reported earlier, players are required to return to their teams on June 22 and coronavirus testing begins on June 23-30.
According to Charania, beginning Friday, up to two coaches or development personnel can work out a player and beginning June 23, head coaches can begin overseeing the workouts.
This is all a crazy set of circumstances brought on by the global coronavirus pandemic. When play was suspended with 18 games remaining, the Kings were in a virtual tie for ninth place with the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers, three and a half games behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies.
Sacramento is one of the 22 teams invited to the Orlando seeding tournament. The league has yet to announce the team schedules.
