Deyonta Davis, we hardly knew you.
The Sacramento Kings announced a roster move Saturday afternoon, waiving big man Deyonta Davis before he could even make an appearance in purple and black.
Davis, 21, joined the Kings along with Ben McLemore as part of the deal that sent veteran Garrett Temple to the Memphis Grizzlies on July 17. With plenty of power forwards and centers already on the roster, Sacramento chose to open a roster spot and waive the 6-foot-11 big out of Michigan State.

In his two seasons with the Grizzlies, Davis posted 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12.1 minutes over 98 total games. Barring another team claiming Davis, the Kings are on the hook for his $1.5 million salary this season.
