Here are three takeaways as the Kings picked up their seventh straight win at home to move to 28-25 on the season:
Rookie Wrecking Crew
Bagley and Harry Giles entered the game early, and instantly got it going. The rookie duo put on a show, scoring inside and out while dominating the glass.
Bagley scored a career-high 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting, chipping in 12 rebounds and three blocks. His incredible alley-oop in the fourth quarter nearly blew the roof off of Golden 1 Center.
NBA
Giles battled the Spurs bigs for 11 points and six rebounds. He struggled with foul trouble, but his presence was felt.
The rookie bigs are improving almost every game. They bring energy on both ends of the court that the Kings need.
Backcourt Magic
De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield put on a show. With their rookies pounding the middle, Sacramento’s starting backcourt took turns stuffing the stat sheet.
After a slow start, Fox scored 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter as the Kings took a double-digit lead. In addition to the 9-of-12 shooting night, Fox dished out six assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Hield missed a couple of open jumpers early, but he bounced back to score 18 points on 3-for-8 from behind the arc. Like Fox, he filled up all of the columns, finishing the evening with eight rebounds and five assists.
Yogi-Bomb
Ferrell got hot. Really hot. In just 17 minutes off the Kings’ bench, the pint-sized point guard scored 19 points on a perfect 7-of-7 from the field. That included four makes from long range.
Ferrell was so good in the fourth that Kings fans gave him a standing ovation when he left the game around the four-minute mark.
