Kings takeaways: What we learned from streak-snapping loss to Bucks

BOX SCORE

The Sacramento Kings finished their four-game road trip 3-1 after dropping a tough one to the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday afternoon. Giannis Antetokounmpo put on a show and his shooters let fly from the perimeter to blowout the Kings by a final of 144-109.

The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Kings, but they return home to Sacramento with a surprising 6-4 record after 10 games.

Here are three takeaways as the Kings stumbled on the road in Milwaukee.

Greek Freaked

Antetokounmpo is a superstar and the Kings have no one who can guard him. Willie Cauley-Stein drew the short straw early and then watched the majority of the game from the bench in foul trouble. Marvin Bagley got the same treatment off the bench and Kosta Koufos ended up on a poster in the third quarter.

In 30 minutes, Antetokounmpo finished with a 26-point, 15-rebounds, 11-assist triple-double in the Bucks runaway win.

Backcourt buckets

Sacramento’s starting backcourt of De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield continues to shine. Despite the loss, Fox managed to post 15 points, six rebounds and six assists in 25 minutes. Hield knocked down 8-of-15 from the field to finish with 19 points in 24 minutes. With the score getting out of hand early, coach Dave Joerger sat the duo in the fourth quarter.

Justin Jackson sighting

After failing to score in double-figures over the last five games, Jackson went off against the Bucks in a reserve role. Jackson set a new career-high with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-for-7 from long range.
