Kings' Richaun Holmes exits after injuring right shoulder vs. Warriors

The last thing the Kings need right now is an injury to their MVP, Richaun Holmes.

But Sacramento's starting center left Monday's game against the Warriors at Golden 1 Center with a right shoulder injury and was ruled out by the team.

The injury occurred with 7:42 remaining in the third quarter. Warriors guard Damion Lee crashed into Holmes, who immediately winced in pain.

He went straight to the Kings' locker room, where he was examined by the Kings' medical staff.

Holmes was signed this offseason to be the team's back-up center, but his impressive play combined with the poor play of Dewayne Dedmon led to coach Luke Walton making a change to the starting lineup.

The fifth-year big man arguably has been the Kings' best player this season. Entering Monday's game, he was averaging a career-high 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest.

Holmes finished Monday's game with seven points and four rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
