SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Kings' roster is filling up quickly. Undrafted free agent Isaiah Pineiro has been added to the squad, the team announced Tuesday.

According to a league source, Pineiro’s deal is an Exhibit 10 contract that allows the Kings to take the former Placer High School forward into training camp

Exhibit 10 contracts are complicated, but according to Larry Coon’s CBA FAQ, the “contract must be for one season at the minimum salary, with no bonuses of any kind (other than an optional Exhibit 10 bonus), and no compensation protection.”

Pineiro’s contract includes a bonus between $5,000 and $50,000 if he is waived by the parent club, signs with the G League affiliate and remains on the roster for 60 days.

After spending a season at Portland State, the 6-foot-7, 215 pound combo-forward transferred to San Diego for his final two seasons in college. Pineiro, 24, posted 18.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game while shooting 33.4 percent from 3-point range during his senior season.

Pineiro averaged four points in 7.4 minutes per game for the Kings’ summer league squad at the California Classic. He posted a similar 4.6 points in 14.0 minutes per game in Las Vegas, but stood out for his strong, aggressive play on the defensive end.

The Kings can carry up to 20 players on their roster coming into training camp. They’ve already used both of their two-way contracts on Wenyen Gabriel and Kyle Guy and the regular-season roster currently stands at 15 players after the additions of Harrison Barnes, Dewayne Dedmon, Cory Joseph, Trevor Ariza and Richaun Holmes during free agency and the signing of No. 40 overall pick Justin James.
