Leandro Barbosa officially joined Steve Kerr's Warriors coaching staff last Monday as a "player mentor coach."
The "Brazilian Blur" was a guest Wednesday on the "Runnin' Plays" podcast with Grant Liffmann and Kerith Burke, and said that he has been working out with Andrew Wiggins every day.
"I talked to him about his (main) goal, and he said that he wants to be a champion," Barbosa revealed. "I said, ''You are in the right place.' It's a great place to be. You have the great players to be around."

In order for the Warriors to be a legitimate NBA title contender next season, Wiggins needs to be a star in his role.

"It's on him. He's very talented on offense, and he can be on defense also," Barbosa said. "We have to work a little bit. But if he's willing to do that, he's capable.
"We have the right guys, the right coaches to teach him what he has to do."

But over 12 games in a Warriors uniform, he showed he has the tools to be a difference maker on that end of the floor.

"I just want to see him play the game in a way that helps us win," Golden State's executive VP of basketball operations Kirk Lacob said in mid-August. "We know he's a talented basketball player. Nobody is going to argue that.
"(But) can he bring those talents and learn, 'What do I do best with this squad to help win?' That's all that I really care about.
"I don't care how many points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks he averages ... I want to see him really happy when we win a bunch of games."
